This month at Metropawlis:

Fall's approaching.  Take advantage of the comfortable weather to see what's new in the Ward and at Metropawlis.  Here are some specials and events to tempt you:

Celebrate Barktoberfest this Saturday!

Join us on Saturday, October 6th and celebrate "Barktoberfest"! From 1 pm to 3 pm we'll have doggie pretzels and Bowser Dog Beer, plus refreshments for people as well. Representatives from Fromm Food will also be on hand to provide free dog food samples.

VIPs can toast some special savings:  VIPs will receive 25% off their entire purchase from 1 to 3 pm on Saturday. Discount does not apply to pet strollers, treats or food and is valid only in store.

Bring your canine to celebrate Milwaukee's German heritage with Barktoberfest this weekend!

Gallery Night and Day: October 19th and 20th

It comes but four times a year, and it is always the most active and exciting night of the season:  Gallery Night & Day takes place the weekend of October 19th and 20th.

The event showcases 64 venues throughout the downtown area. Spanning Friday evening and Saturday during the day, Gallery Night and Day features free parking in the Historic Third Ward parking structures.

You can also ride the Friday Gallery Night Xpress free! Enjoy a five-stop route which will take you from the Third Ward to East Town and back. The 20-passenger bus makes a continuous loop from 5 pm to 9 pm with stops every 15 minutes.

Metropawlis will be serving refreshments for dogs and their companions from 5 to 9 pm on Friday evening and from 1 to 3 pm on Saturday.

New Products for Fall

Artscape Third Ward Sculpture Walk

Here's another reason to visit the Third Ward this month:  The Historic Third Ward Association is pleased to present the fourth annual outdoor sculpture exhibition featuring the work of Wisconsin artists. Seventeen sculptures have been placed throughout the heart of the neighborhood. Walk the Ward and view this year's sculptures day or night, rain or shine now through November 15!

Getting through the Marquette Interchange & Parking

Marquette InterchangeGetting to the Third Ward may seem difficult because of the Marquette Interchange Project, but it isn't!  Driving to Metropawlis from the north, south, or west is still very easy.  Click the icon at the right to receive up-to-date driving directions!

And parking nearby is plentiful!  Here's a tip:  Many folks stick to Water and Broadway Streets when seeking parking, but there's a lot more parking to be found just a block or two to the east, on Milwaukee and Jefferson Streets.  There are also three lots and structures within a couple blocks:

  • Milwaukee Public Market Lot: The entrance to the parking lot behind the MPM is off of Water Street, between St. Paul and Clybourn. Milwaukee Public Market visitors enjoy an hour of FREE parking with a purchase.
  • Parking Garages: The Third Ward has two large parking garages available for visitors. These can be found on the northeast corner of Milwaukee & Chicago Streets (212 N. Milwaukee St.) and the southeast corner of Water & Chicago Streets (225 E. Chicago St.
