Every month, Metropawlis receives a number of new items, but never before

Every pet is a hero, as far as we're concerned, but some special cats and
dogs have gotten some attention in the news recently:
Dog
saves woman's life by calling 911
Faith, a 4-year-old Rottweiler service dog, phoned 911, barked urgently into the
receiver, and even unlocked the front door for the police officer when her owner
fell out of her wheelchair.

Hammer Finds a Home
A tiger-striped Iraqi kitten earned a place in the hearts of an Army Unit.
So when the unit returned home, they didn't want to leave without their
"stress therapist." Thanks to a US fundraising effort,
"Pfc. Hammer" was reunited with his unit in Fort Carson,
Colorado.
Design
duo's cat hailed fire hero
Felix alerted his owners to fire in their home by constantly meowing and became
the first animal to receive the Scottish Executive's Don't Give Fire a Home fire
safety award.
Hero dogs with a
nose for trouble
Several hero dogs were honored with medals at the "Paws to Recognize"
ceremony held in New York. The dogs had their paws imprinted in cement for
a Hollywood-style walk of fame.
