just about every weekend had snow in December, didn't it?)

As you’re shopping around after Christmas looking for clearance deals, don’t

Join Metropawlis for the first Gallery Night and Weekend
of the season on January 18th and 19th. Shake off the winter

Metropawlis will be open late until 8 pm on Friday the 18th. Join us
for refreshments from 5 to 8 pm
on Friday and from 11-2 on Saturday. VIPs will receive 25% off
any purchase (in-store only and excluding clearance merchandise,
treats and strollers) during Gallery Weekend hours. Don’t miss the
“Sculptures on Ice” competition in Catalano Square located at
Broadway and Menomonee.

Here's one event you're not invited to (and don't want to attend):
Metropawlis will be closed on January 9th for inventory. (Feel free to
visit beforehand and help us reduce our inventory-counting effort!)
In January and every other month, every Tuesday is "Humane Tuesday" at
Metropawlis. We donate 5% of all in-store sales to the
Wisconsin Humane Society on Tuesdays, so please stop in some Tuesday in
January. (And thanks to those of you who gave us tips in December for the
special holiday wrapping; the $188 in tips we raised were donated to the Humane
Society!)
If you still need one more reason to visit during Gallery weekend – maybe the
opening of Anthropologie will entice you!
Anthropologie, “an inspiring place to shop for women’s clothing, accessories
and home décor” will be opening on January 18th right next to Metropawlis! We’ve
heard rave reviews about our new neighbor so come on down and check out what
they’re all about! (And don't forget the other great women's boutiques
within a block or two, including Lela,
divna, and
Three Graces.)
As of this month’s email, we are making changes to our VIP birthday program.
We're discontinuing the VIP birthday email program but not the VIP birthday gifts and discounts!

If you haven't been receiving our birthday emails or want to register your pet's
birthday with us: First of all, make sure you've added our email or
email address to your safe list and/or your address book. (This helps to
make sure we don't get mistaken for junk mail.) Second, let us know your
pet's birthday when you visit the store or by email at
PetLover@Metropawlis.com.
On your pet's birthday month: Visit our Third Ward store, and
let us know at checkout that you’re a Metropawlis VIP and it’s your pet’s
birthday month. We'll need your email address and/or name for verification
purposes, and your pet will receive a free complimentary birthday treat as
well as a 25% discount on all purchases made during that visit (excluding
bakery treats, clearance items and pet strollers).
It is with a sad heart that we say goodbye to Ellie, one of our sales
associates. Ellie has been with Metropawlis for over three years, but she is
moving out of the area. Ellie has been a valued employee and will be greatly
missed!
But don't worry, Geri, Ben, Lori, and Lindsay are waiting to welcome you to
Metropawlis in 2008! Hope to see you soon.
 Getting to the Third Ward may seem difficult because of the Marquette
Interchange Project, but it isn't! Driving to Metropawlis
from the north, south, or west is still very easy. Click the icon at the right to receive up-to-date driving directions!
And parking nearby is plentiful!
Here's a tip: Many folks stick to Water and Broadway Streets when seeking
parking, but there's a lot more parking to be found just a block or two to the
east, on Milwaukee and Jefferson Streets. There are also three lots and
structures within a couple blocks:
- Milwaukee Public Market Lot: The entrance to the parking lot behind
the MPM is off of Water Street, between St. Paul and Clybourn. You can park
free for the first hour (with MPM purchase)six days a week, and parking is free in this lot all
day on Sundays.
- Parking Garages: The Third Ward has two large parking garages
available for visitors. These can be found on the northeast corner of
Milwaukee & Chicago Streets (212 N. Milwaukee St.) and the southeast corner of
Water & Chicago Streets (225 E. Chicago St.
Metropawlis is Milwaukee's Unique Boutique for the
