The Shepherd Express "Best of
Milwaukee 2004" voting is
now underway. Vote for your favorite restaurants, activities, and (of
course) pet store. Voting ends September 14th. (Take note that you
must vote for at least 20 categories for your vote to count!)
If you live with a cat, please mark your calendar for Saturday, September 25th
from 10 am to noon. Metropawlis will be hosting a session with
Betsy Lipscomb, a cat behavior specialist.
Lipscomb created Cats
International, a nonprofit organization, in 1991 to offer behavioral
counseling as an alternative to getting rid of cats with behavior issues. While
maintaining the nonprofit group, Lipscomb started a for-profit business named
SmartCat, which makes products targeting cat behavioral problems. We encourage
you to speak with Betsy about your cat behavior issues and check out the
SmartCat products that are offered in our store!
Metropawlis will donate 10% of our SmartCat product sales to Cats
International for this one day event.
Brady Street Doggie Parade, Pet Blessing & Costume Contest

Once again, Brady Street will be hosting the Annual Doggie Parade and Costume
Contest! Metropawlis is pleased to be involved with this year's event,
which will include a Doggie March, Pet Blessing and fun activities for dogs.
Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Wisconsin
Humane Society. Watch for further details to be posted in our store in the
near future!
Residents for Off Leash Milwaukee Dog Parks (ROMP) Paws in the Park Dog
Walk
October 23, 2004
Join the ROMP group for a dog walk along Veterans Park, the lagoon and Lake
Michigan! ROMP will have games and demos for all participants, as well as a
Howl-O-Ween costume contest. Metropawlis will be hosting a table at the
event so come on down and say "hi"! Watch for further details to be
posted in our store.
