About Us

Metropawlis was founded in 2003 by Geri and Augie Ray thanks to the inspiration of Sassy and Taro.  We were extremely pleased and humbled that--in our first year of operation--the readers of the "Shepherd Express" voted us the Best Pet Store in the "Best of Milwaukee 2004" readers' poll. 

As longtime downtown residents, we felt there was a need for a nearby, convenient source for cat and dog food, toys, and other products.  We also believed that Milwaukee could use a pet boutique offering unique, fun, and stylish products that reflect the personality of pets and their companions.  For these reasons, we're excited to be part of the Milwaukee pet community, the chic and fun Third Ward neighborhood, and the emerging retail scene around downtown Milwaukee.

We hope to create a place where pets and their owners feel at home and always welcome.
